Winter work in the vineyard

Winter is time of vegetative rest for the vines and while the vines are yawning, the winegrower is pruning. The sap having descended, we can prune the vine in order to adapt the load of the buds and make a first selection of branches.

For the Guyot-pruned vines, we tie the baguettes. This consists of passing the oaths on either side of the support thread. It is a manual operation, made by our seasonal workers, which requires great precision.

At this same period, we also replace the old stakes, and we add some on the small plants.
