EDMEE Le ROY

AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape white 2021

Featured

A tribute to Edmée Le Roy through a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape combining freshness, fruitiness and delicacy.

THE VINTAGE

After a mild winter and a cool spring, marked by an episode of frost in April, followed a summer punctuated by a few very hot episodes. Thanks to the rain in early August, the grape ripening process did not have to suffer from excessive water stress.

It is a late vintage with low yield. The first cuvées suggest lower average degrees than in previous years, high color intensities and good acidity that will ensure great aging potential.

TASTING NOTES
Brilliant, pale gold color with slight green reflections. Powerful nose, with a strong floral and exotic fruity dominance: small white flowers, jasmine, lychee. Fresh citrus. The palate is suave on the attack, with a nice volume. The sweetness is tempered by a saline minerality which gives the wine great elegance. We find the fresh floral notes then exotic notes and ginger. A persistent and complex wine, with freshness and minerality.
