THE VINTAGE
After a mild winter and a cool spring, marked by an episode of frost in April, followed a summer punctuated by a few very hot episodes. Thanks to the rain in early August, the grape ripening process did not have to suffer from excessive water stress. It is a late vintage with low yield. The first cuvées suggest lower average degrees than in previous years, high color intensities and good acidity that will ensure great aging potential
TASTING NOTE
A beautiful ruby-red robe with bluish highlights. An intense and complex nose, dominated by cherry and blackcurrant jam, and graphite. Soft roasted notes, vanilla, and a gentle sapiness enhance the nose, supported by hints of caramel cream on the finish. The palate is full from the first sip. This is followed by a lovely volume in the mid-palate, with good acidity. The tannins are dense with a very fine grain. The aromatic profile of the nose is echoed on the palate. The tannins are still integrating. This wine displays a very long finish with roasted and fruity notes.
